The iconic fun run along Auckland’s waterfront is New Zealand’s largest mass participation sporting event, attracting more than 26,000 participants annually. In 2019 the event was held on March 3rd, and we're gearing up for the 2020 event on March 8th!

Subaru of New Zealand's Marketing Manager Daile Stephens says there are obvious synergies between this event and Subaru.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with one of the world's largest fun runs. The spirit of Subaru is ‘do’ and it summarises our desire to see Kiwi families get out and enjoy all the adventures our country has to offer, enabled by our All-Wheel Drive vehicles. We see the Ports of Auckland Round the Bays as a fun, family-friendly event for people to get involved in and to train for in the New Year. Whether you’re new to running or returning to exercise, looking to improve on your current running capability, or want to get your kids more active, this event is ideal for runners or walkers of all abilities. The appeal of the event is how accessible it is, and it encourages everyone to be active, regardless of their level of fitness,” Mrs Stephens says.

If you're gearing up for Round the Bays this year, Subaru have teamed up with Under Armour New Zealand to create some training tips to help you get race ready with the help of Subaru brand ambassador Hannah Wells. Check them out below and download our 8 week Subaru training programme that has options for Walkers, Beginner Runners and Intermediate Runners.

The Subaru team will be hanging out at the Subaru stand at the finish line in Vellenoweth Green, St Heliers to celebrate with everyone including Subaru brand ambassadors, Art Green and Matilda Rice who will be running with Team Subaru last year. The latest line-up of Subaru SUVs are on display for participants to check out at their leisure over the day.

The Ports of Auckland Round the Bays fun run involves an 8.4km flat course from the Auckland CBD to St Heliers Bay. The start is located at Quay Street and the course continues along Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour to a spectacular finish along St Heliers Bay.
