Levorg Safety

The Subaru Levorg comes packed with safety features without compromise. This starts with our maximum 5-star ANCAP1 safety rating standard across the range, and safety technologies built around the three pillars of protective, preventative and predictive safety.

EyeSight® Driver Assist System

EyeSight® is a second pair of eyes that monitor the road ahead and recognise potentially dangerous driving situations. Using three dimensional images captured by cameras mounted at the top of the windscreen, EyeSight® provides audible and visual warnings to prompt the driver to take action. EyeSight® will also apply automatic braking intervention, when necessary, to help avoid or reduce the severity of a detected frontal collision.

Pre-Collision Braking provides automatic braking to help avoid or reduce the severity of detected frontal accident impacts. Should the driver be distracted, or just not register the risk of a collision, braking will be automatically applied when a potential frontal collision is recognised by EyeSight®. Feaures include:

Pre-Collision Brake Assist - recognises a potential frontal impact, alerts the driver and assists the driver by applying full braking force in a detected emergency-braking situation.

Pre-Collision Throttle Management - reduces available acceleration when the system detects objects in front of the vehicle, which it is likely to impact. Engine output is restricted to reduce the possible impact force and frontal impact damage, and to help minimise injury should the driver mistakenly accelerate.

Adaptive Cruise Control - maintains the speed set by the driver, but also regulates the vehicle’s speed in order to maintain a set distance from the car in front. The driver can select from different distances and the EyeSight® system will automatically regulate the vehicle’s speed in line with the traffic flow.

Lane Sway and Departure Warning - monitors the vehicle’s position within the road lane markings and sounds a warning when it recognises the potential for the vehicle to unintentionally move out of its lane, or when swaying within the lane is recognised.

Colour recognition - EyeSight® can now see and interpret red brake lights to monitor a vehicle ahead and trigger a driver alert.
EyeSight® is available on the 2.0 GT-S Levorg as a standard feature.

EyeSight® Assist Monitor - this is a new feature to EyeSight®, where warnings are displayed on the windscreen so the driver can gain a quicker understanding of the currenty situation without taking eyes off the surrounding road environment. The display is easy to understand, as the colour and flashing cycle changes according to the danger level.

Boxer Engine

The Boxer engine sits low in the engine bay to help reduce the risk of injury to occupants by sliding below the cabin – not into it - in the event of a severe frontal collision.

Vehicle Dynamic Control and Braking Systems

Safety designed to help prevent loss of control is delivered via improved Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), which constantly monitors vehicle movement, engaging a range of technologies when required. With precision timing the VDC controls the Antilock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), TCS Limited Slip Device, Brake Override System (BOS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA).

Rear View Reverse Camera

The Subaru Levorg features a rear view reverse camera as standard. The new, ultra-wide angle camera provides an improved rear field of vision to help reduce the risk of collisions with surrounding objects.

Collision Protection

Your safety is at the forefront of Subaru design, that’s why we build safety features like airbags and our ring-shaped passenger cell into every Subaru.

Every Levorg features a total of seven airbags - including dual front, front side, curtain and driver’s knee airbags to help protect occupants in the event of an accident. The advanced airbag system uses an array of sensors to help deploy the airbags in the most effective way possible.

Safety continues with an improved chassis and a body frame reinforced to increase frontal, side and rear crash safety. The shock absorbing bonnet design and designated crumple zones direct impact energy away from the reinforced passenger safety cell.

The result of our collision protection safety features is a maximum five-star ANCAP1 crashworthiness rating.
