Ten Subaru Outback XT Special Editions destined for New Zealand

The Subaru Outback XT Special Edition blends the stand-out features of two outstanding Outback variants into a single, limited model.

Subaru Corporation has a reputation for taking a great model and making it even greater, with 10 Subaru Outback XT Special Editions on route to New Zealand.

Already dubbed the Greatest Outback of All Time, the Subaru Outback XT Special Edition blends the stand-out features of two outstanding Outback variants into a single, limited model. Combining the Outback X’s ruggedly stylish exterior looks, with an interior belonging to the most technologically advanced and luxurious Outback ever - the XT Touring - the Outback XT Special Edition represents the best of both worlds.

Arriving mid-August in a single special edition colour - Geyser Blue - the 10 Outback XT Special Edition SUVs have a striking exterior with black mirrors, rear garnish and badging. The 18” dark grey metallic alloys are complemented by green tie down points and green ‘Outback’ side badging. The overall effect creates a powerful exterior appearance.

The interior does lush on a grand scale, with Nappa leather accented seat trim, an electric sunroof, heated front and rear seats and steering wheel, Harman Kardon® audio, ventilated front seats and a rear power tail gate with hands-free badge sensor.

Priced at $71,490 RRP, the Outback XT Special Edition benefits from a powerful 2.4-litre turbocharged Boxer engine, which provides an impressive 2400kg towing capacity. Ready for all adventures, with 213mm of ground clearance, legendary Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and 8-speed Lineartronic™ SLT with manual mode transmission, these 10 Outback XT Special Edition models have never been more suited to New Zealand.

Subaru of New Zealand Managing Director Wallis Dumper cannot wait to see the Outback XT Special Editions in the flesh when they arrive.

“In recent years we’ve had an incredibly popular run of special edition Subaru models in our performance line-up, with the SAIGO WRX and SAIGO WRX STI - which translates as ‘the last’ in Japanese. These 10 Outback XT Special Editions will be our first-ever special edition Outbacks and I believe they will be a huge hit with our Kiwi customers.”

“What’s not to love about combining the best of the Outback X’s striking looks on the outside, with the impressive interior spec of our flagship Outback XT Touring?” Mr Dumper says.
